Day Trip to Ourika Valley

Day 1: Marrakech – Ourika Valley – Setti Fatma Waterfalls – Marrakech

Your day trip begins with a morning pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, typically at 9:00 AM. You’ll travel through scenic landscapes toward the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains.

Along the way, you’ll pass through traditional Berber villages and the Tnin Ourika market area. Your first stop is at a women’s argan oil cooperative, where you can watch the extraction process and learn about the cultural and cosmetic importance of this “liquid gold.”

Continue into the heart of the Ourika Valley, where the din of the city becomes a distant memory. Upon arrival, accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, you’ll explore authentic Berber villages and learn about Berber history, customs, and hospitality.

One of the day’s highlights is a gentle guided hike to the Setti Fatma waterfalls. Walk along the river, cross small wooden bridges, and follow scenic trails to reach the refreshing cascades. Surrounded by greenery and mountain air, this is a moment of pure serenity and adventure.

After the hike, enjoy free time for a traditional Moroccan lunch at a riverside restaurant (optional). Taste authentic tagines, fresh salads, and homemade bread served with mountain views.

In the mid-afternoon, begin your return journey to Marrakech, arriving in the evening with drop-off at your accommodation.
