8 Days Morocco tour from Fes to Marrakech

Day 1: Fes Airport Pick Up

On arrival at Fes-Saïss Airport you are met and transferred to an authentic riad in the medina. The rest of the day is free to relax or start exploring the old city’s alleyways at your own pace Overnight in fes.

Day 2: Full Day in Fes with a Local Guide

Spend a full day discovering the UNESCO-listed Fes medina with an expert local guide the Al-Qarawiyyin University, royal king palace, the Chouara tanneries and the ornate madrasas  finishing at a hilltop viewpoint over the endless sea of rooftops and minarets Overnight in fes.

Day 3: Fes to the Gateway of the Sahara

We depart Fes after breakfast and cross the Middle Atlas through captivating landscapes on the way to the Sahara. Driving via Ifrane and the Azrou cedar forest and down the Ziz Valley we reach the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga by evening  where a camel trek carries you into the sand for sunset, dinner and a night in a desert camp Overnight  Luxury Desert Camp.

Day 4: Explore Merzouga Desert and Nomad Life

After a magnificent sunrise over the dunes and breakfast, the day is dedicated to a real desert experience around Merzouga Visit the village of Khamlia to hear the spiritual rhythms of Gnawa music discover an old mineral mine and a dry desert lake and share tea with a local nomadic family for a genuine insight into their way of life Overnight in luxury desert camp or a riad/kasbah optional.

Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

Wake early for sunrise over the dunes, then ride back by camel for breakfast and a shower then We travel west to the towering cliffs of Todgha Gorge with free time to walk along the river beneath the 300-metre canyon walls. Continuing along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs we reach the Dades Valley by evening for dinner and an overnight beside its winding river and the famous ‘Monkey Fingers’ rock formations  Overnight  Dades valley.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

After breakfast we travel through the Dades Valley and the fragrant Rose Valley to Ouarzazate the ‘Hollywood of Africa’ with an optional stop at the Atlas Film Studios The highlight is the UNESCO-listed kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the best-preserved earthen village in Morocco and a backdrop for films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones We then climb the High Atlas over the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka pass  arriving in Marrakech in the late afternoon or early evening  Overnight in marrakech.

Day 7: Dive into Marrakech City with a Local Guide

A full-day guided tour of Marrakech takes in the Bahia Palace the Saadian Tombs and the serene Majorelle Garden, then the bustling souks ending at the Jemaa el-Fna square which comes alive at night with storytellers musicians and food stalls Overnight in marrakech.

Day 8: Marrakech Airport Drop Off

After a final Moroccan breakfast and any last free time you are transferred to Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) for your departure.
