    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Marrakech To Fes Desert Trips 2 Days / 1 Night

Is a 2-day tour enough time to see the desert?

It’s the minimum itinerary that still puts you in the Sahara overnight. However it involves two very long driving days around 9 hours more or less each way. You’ll have about an hour on the camel at sunset and sunrise plus the night in the camp. If you have three or more days available the 3-day version offers a more relaxed pace with time to explore the region properly.

How should I pack for this fast-paced tour?

Since you’ll only have one night in the desert and your main luggage stays in the vehicle or our camp team will bring your luggage to the camp by car. bring with you comfortab trousers for the camel ride, sunscreen, sunglasses, a scarf for sand protection  and a headlamp or phone flashlight. Be prepared for long days in the vehicle from marrakech to the sahara deset. download podcasts or bring a book.

What happens to my luggage during the camel trek?

Your main luggage (suitcases or large backpacks) remains locked and securely stored inside the vehicle. The driver-guide stays with the vehicle at the edge of the dunes in Merzouga while you ride into the camp. You only need a small overnight bag with essentials for the night or can bring your luggage to the camp.

What are the driving conditions like?

The route covers approximately 560 km on Day 1 alone mostly winding mountain roads and desert highways. The Tizi n’Tichka pass is a dramatic but winding road with hairpin turns. If you’re prone to motion sickness consider medication. The journey is long but the ever-changing landscapes from snow capped peaks to palm oases to golden dunes make time pass quickly.
